A progressive farmer, Smt. Linishawas made her reputation through her work in the field of agriculture. Her interest shifted from fashion designing to farming after she got encouragement from various agricultural groups.
When she stepped into farming, she began cultivating around 50 bags of vegetables, and now she cultivates more than 300 bags of vegetables, such as tomato, okra, capsicum, brinjal, carrot, cauliflower, kasturi turmeric, chili, cabbage, etc. She also planted fruits like dragon fruit, and bananas, along with tubers like elephant foot yam and tapioca.
She produced vegetables from her garden organically and supplied them to her neighboring farmers along with vegetable seeds. She is also helping the needy by providing them with quality Desi chicks. She is educating and encouraging other local farmers in various farming practices.
Under Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY), she got training from Nursery Management in December 2020. With the support of MANAGE, Hyderabad, the program was organized for the growth of rural youth by the Indian Institute of Species Research, and Krishi Vigyan Kendra. During the training, she learned the skills of farming, and now she is an inspiration for other farmers.
She engaged in coconut-based mixed cropping with fruits, vegetables, rabbit rearing, vegetables, and ornamental fish. She also planted ornamental plants and various indoor plants. As a side business, she keeps ornamental fish, rabbits, and 100-layer chicks at her home.
• In 2019, through a Facebook group, she got an award for the best kitchen garden from the Principal Krishi Officer.
• In 2019, from the State Agriculture Minister, she got an award for best coconut-based intercropping.
• In 2020, she got an appreciation for various agricultural activities.
