Gardening Tips for Beginners

Connect yourself with nature through gardening. Gardening is all about finding the right ratio of fertile soil, water, and sunlight in order to make your plant grow well. Choose plants you love to pursue your passion. For a beginner, it doesn’t seem very easy to start gardening from scratch. We are here, to guide you

•Choose the right spot.

To start building your own garden, choose the right spot. Make sure the area you choose for the gardening, gets 5–6 hours of proper sunlight. Avoid planting in an area with strong winds; it may damage your budding and young plants.
Choosing the type of garden, you want is as important as choosing the right spot. Would it be a nutritious vegetable garden, a flower garden, or a kitchen garden? When you decide, start taking little steps to make your dream garden come true.

•Examine the fertile soil.

While gardening, make sure your soil is nutrient-rich and well-drained. You can use the home testing kits available to check whether your soil is acidic or alkaline in nature. To improve the quality of the soil, add organic compost made of vegetable peels, and tea compost. First, examine the texture of the soil, it should easily crumble in your hands. If the texture of the soil is hard, it would be challenging to grow roots in it.

•Choose the plant.

Now, come to the most important part, deciding what plants you want to grow. Take some time to research before coming to a conclusion on what to cultivate in your garden. Choose the plant as per its suitability, as some plants need direct sunlight and some plants need shade. To make it successful, while growing herbs and veggies, start with young plants instead of starting from seeds.

•Make a Simple plan.

Making a plan is a crucial process before you get into planting. Plan the space carefully for each plant, as plants require a particular area to grow. If you place 2 young plants too close, it might affect their growth, or they might simply die. Also, you can keep a journal to keep track of your garden activity and then make a progress report for each plant to analyse the nature of these plants.

•Start Planting

Once you are done with planning, start planting. Here is some advice for gardening:
– If it’s not specified in any seed packaging, we suggest you plant seeds 3–4 times deeper than their diameter.
– Make sure to cover the seeds completely with soil and water them properly.
– Dig a hole twice as broad as the root ball, while moving the young plants into a pot or any container. Also, to develop the growth of the plan, add some organic compost. Water your plant after transplanting.

•Water your Plants properly.

Giving enough water to the plants is an important process for proper growth, if you overwater the plant, it may cause waterlogging, which can damage the plant. Always prefer slow watering, as it allows water to reach deeply into the soil. Different kinds of plants need different dosages of water.
Young plants need daily watering, whereas old plants can be watered every 2-3 days according to the weather conditions.

•Be Patient

The process of gardening takes time, so you need to be patient. Make sure to monitor them regularly. Follow all the processes and take care of them with all your heart, definitely, it’ll turn into your dream garden.
